Practice Background

Felinheli and Menai Bridge Surgery has been providing medical care to local patients since 1967 when the surgery was first opened by Dr Gunter Poeppinghaus and his wife Dr Eirlys Speek.  They took over Dr Meredydd Vaughan Jones's surgery in Felinheli and the late Dr Fisher's surgery in Menai Bridge. The Practice was then taken over by Dr Behman Mali in 1976 who was later joined by Dr Khalid Shah in 1980 and Dr Philip White in 1983. Since then we have grown, and are now a 3 Partner Practice that provide care for over 6500 patients.

The Practice is based on two sites (5 miles apart) either side of the Menai Straits that separates Anglesey from Gwynedd.

At Felinheli new premises opened July 2013, and the Surgery was built in Menai Bridge in 1990.

In addition to general medical services, Felinheli is a dispensing practice and will dispense to patients that live more than 1 mile in a straight line from the nearest Chemist (as per NHS Wales policy).
